NO AWANA FOR SUMMER - STARTS UP AGAIN SEPTEMBER 6, 2017

The name AWANA is an acronym, Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from the verse II Timothy 2:15: "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth."

Something for all ages:

Awana Procedures

Our goal is to teach your children about the Lord and His wonderful love for them. Here are some suggestions to help you and your children accomplish this goal.

AWANA begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 8 p.m. The club is divided into three half hour segments. Clubbers will meet outside at the “Sparky” sign and march into the auditorium for the opening pledges. They will then go to handbook time in the first and second grade rooms.

The time there will be spent in saying their sections that they have memorized. Please help your child memorize the sections in their handbooks each week. At this time your children will be given AWANA bucks which may be used at the end of the month in the AWANA store. Clubbers must say at least three sections each month to be able to go to the AWANA store.

AWANA bucks are given as follows:
Dues- 2 bucks per quarter (up to $1.00)
Bible- 1 buck
Handbook and Gate test- 1 buck
Visitors- 3 bucks

Handbook time will be followed by game time around the AWANA circle. For the safety of your child during game time we recommend they wear tennis shoes and long pants. The final half hour of AWANA will be for the Bible story and presentation of awards. They will receive awards if they have their uniform and have completed the requirements for their badges and
jewels. Calvary Baptist will be giving a special award twice a year for those clubbers who attend Sunday School faithfully here at Calvary. This is a special award given this year by our church to encourage clubbers who do not attend Sunday School regularly.

You may pick up your child at the end of AWANA in the auditorium. We appreciate the opportunity to minister to your child this year. If you have any questions or if there is any way we can be of help to you or your family please do not hesitate to let us know

What is Awana?

FUN! That's how most boys and girls describe Awana Club meetings. But to parents like you they're more. Awana meetings are brimming with life-enriching experiences for young people. They provide consistent positive teaching every week - training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values.

Clubbers learn about the reality of God, the truth of the Bible, and respect for our nation's freedoms. Awana plants seeds of wisdom while youths begin the painstaking process of becoming responsible adults.

Awana exists for parents who appreciate the value of a wholesome peer group in their children's lives. It's an organization for those who want their kids to find peace - true peace -in a world that's literally filled with violence.

If that's your concern, take a closer look at Awana. Come and visit us on Wednesday evenings, and it will be evident to you when you see the smiling and happy faces of all the children.
